Computer Commands

I was sat in Starbucks at lunchtime, reading Photoshop Creative Magazine, issue number 48. Well I wasn't actually reading it, I was flicking through looking at the various articles and entering their content into my Evernote program ready for future referencing. The first thing I actually did read was the editorial, which commented what it would be like if life in general came with the computer shortcuts and commands that we are all so familiar with. This got me thinking of the possibilities.

Initially the article commented about the undo command. Ofcourse we could all se the great use of this. How many times have we actually thought I wish I could undo that comment, or that decision. Also all those times that we have said yes and we should have said no. How many times do we hear ourselves saying in our heads,

"Why on earth did I agree to do this!"

Then I got thinking what other wonderful commands I could use in everyday life. Certainly copy and paster would be excellent. Imagine all those mundane boring tasks that we have to endure. Cleaning the toilet, copy and paste, sweeping the floor, copy and paste, even doing the ironing..copy and, well you get the idea.

Turning the computer off also gave me food for thought. Restart, how great would that be, getting half way through the day and thinking, I don't like how this has gone so far, Restart! Shut down is a command I would probably like to use on others rather than myself. Those people who drone endlessly on, when they could have said what they wanted to say in a few minutes or even seconds, just as they were getting going....-shutdown- ... bliss! And I must say I would love...no that's not the right word...welcome! the command Sleep! The number of times I have laid awake for endless hours, longing for the command -sleep-
