The realms of blogging
Its been such a lovely day today, nice and bright and sunny in the morning, and cool and grey in the afternoon. A nice mixture. Went for a nice walk to starbucks this afternoon and sat with a venti earl grey tea and read two iCreate magazines, well I didn't read them properly I just did the first glance though, marking things down on Evernote so I can access later what I will be interested in reading.
Been spending the day catching up on blog posts and yet again examining people's styles and how they are created. Being a very visual person, I like to learn visually so I am always on the look out for video tutorials to aid me in my understanding of things. I naturally therefore enjoy watching video blogs, or podcasts. Written blogs seem to be more of a strain to read at times.
It appears that many people seem to blog in different ways and have multiple styles to their blogging, while some people just seem to use one style that they enjoy and feel that they can manage. There are so many different blogging tools around that its hard to decide which actually suits your own style the best. There is then the problem about what to blog about and then finally there is the need to keep it going consistently.
After all this I thing there is then the business of marketing your blog and getting a readership that actually reads what you are putting. I tend to think of my blogs as just somewhere I put my thoughts, and really only my bezzy reads them. After you have managed to get a following, I suppose then is the time to get them to comment and make your blog something that people enjoy to read and interact with. I browse through YouTube quite a lot and it appears that Vblogs (video blogs) tend to be for the younger generation. I suppose being an older geek, I don't really fit into the generation of YouTube.
While posting things on Audiboo, I think my voice sounds perculiar and that tends to put me off and, although I talk for a living, communicating things in a clear and precise manner, but a microphone infront of my and my mind goes to pot and I start talking rubbish!
At the moment, this written blog is more to my taste since I can type and redraft what I am putting rather than being more spontaneous. I suppose I should have a go at the other types of blogging I might actually be surprised that I enjoy them!
Anyway, hope you have enjoyed reading this and don't forget to have fun...
